Description
A 31 year old St Magdalene whisky. Bottled by Gordon & MacPhail as part of their Rare Old series. This St. Magdalene was distilled in 1982, it was then aged in a sherry cask, number RO/13/01, before being bottled in 20 September 2013. A run of just 308 bottles.
The St Magdalene distillery was closed in 1983 and partly demolished, the remaining buildings were converted into apartments.
Colour: gold.
Nose:
Subtle Sherry influences with ripe plum and pear aromas.
Taste:
Has a delicate spiciness initially, with green apple, orange peel and marzipan flavours.
Finish:
Dusty dry earthy on the tongue, the power sustaining the barley-driven oily fruitiness.
