Description
A 37 year old Glenglassaugh whisky. A distillery bottling as part of their Rare Cask Series. Distilled in 1972 before being bottled in 2009. A run of just 226 bottles, this is bottle number 202. It is presented in a beautiful decander style bottle.
Colour: full gold.
Nose:
Intensely sweet and creamy. Boiled candies, baked apples and Danish pastries with cinnamon spice and hints of eucalyptus wrapped in a blanket of sweet sherry. Bold but velvet soft.
Taste:
Medium to full bodied with a velvet mouth feel. Ample sweet sherry, tropical fruits in abundance; guava, mango and pineapple turning to apple and pear. A little oak spiciness and the merest trace of liquorice appear late on the palate.
Finish:
Velvet soft and long with gentle oak spice.
As with all our older bottles, there may be some slight damage to the labels / box. Please see the pictures.
